Teacher Mentoring at Sanctuary in Wetherby

Let’s be honest – we still need advice after teacher training is over.  200, 300 hours, suddenly feels like it’s not nearly enough, and why would it?

Early in my yoga teaching career, I often wished for someone to turn to – a mentor who could offer me support and grounding, someone to answer questions (there were still so many!), someone to boost my confidence and provide guidance on how to enrich my techniques.  Siobhan of Saffron Yoga was such a blessing as I was first starting out on my own and now it’s my turn to be a resource for up-and-coming teachers.

As your mentor, we’ll discuss what kind of support you need in a friendly, judgement-free space whether online or in-person. It could be:

  • An occasional assessment, someone to pop into your classes and offer you constructive feedback.
  • A monthly check-in as you get started, a friendly face and source of encouragement as you find your feet.
  • Recommendations of books to study or diverse workshops and teachers around the U.K. to enrich your knowledge.
  • Cultivating tips on how to teach for a particular demographic or need (i.e. geriatric vs. prenatal, trauma vs. M.E.).
  • A review of your own practice habits.

Teaching is a journey of acquiring skills that are separate from our own practice, and you don’t have to do it alone!  Let’s work together to build a foundation of knowledge that nurtures your growth as you become the yoga teacher you were meant to be.

We’re colleagues, not competitors.
